Eat, Drink and Be Tipsy
If you are looking for a great escape for the weekend or just a day, drive down I-45 and put your toes in the sand and a cool drink in your hand! The Tipsy Turtle is at pocket park No.9. It's one of the few places in Galveston, Texas where you can rent an umbrella and chairs and order lunch or a Pina Colada sitting on the beach!We discovered this hidden gem one summer when we spent the weekend at the beach. It's a pocket park restaurant and bar and it has become our new favorite beach destination. Being only a couple of hours from Houston, we find ourselves headed to the Turtle on Friday night after work or early Saturday morning to spend the day. They serve burgers and fries and have a great bar that looks out over the Gulf at West Beach. A greatplace to watch the sun set and the moon rise over the water!

"The Flamingo Hotel" Las Vegas Fall 2023 - This was our view from the Flamingo Hotel this September with my Mom. She and I spent the weekend in Fabulous Las Vegas on a Girls Weekend! This was one of many trips we have taken over the years. It's one of the first trips we have been able to take just the two of us since my girls have both grown up and headed out on their own journey. Exciting times for all of us!
Las Vegas has always been one of my favorite destinations. Especially when you have summers like we did this summer in Texas. Record breaking heatwaves all summer long and no rain make for a very long summer. Believe it or not, it was actually cooler in Las Vegas than in Texas this fall?
